The Hunters' Hall
At a port1 Dock at the clan hunters' hall to learn where the great skywyrm Longshadow lairs.
The hunters' hall is crowded with bounty captains who came for the reward and lost their nerve after seeing the three shattered skiff prows mounted above the hearth. At the center table, Captain Tove Brandr of the harpoon ship Sinew is recruiting a partner: having slain wyrms across three regions, she wants a second warship to draw the beast's first pass. In the corner, an elderly Lupine tracker sits alone mending a boot, watching Brandr with quiet suspicion.
- Speak privately with the old Lupine tracker in the corner. The tracker's name is Sefa. She finishes her stitch before looking up. "Do you just want to kill the wyrm, or do you want to know why she struck? Those are two very different voyages." Gathering her blanket and boot, she comes aboard as your guide.
- [Lupine] Have crewmate inspect the three shattered skiff prows mounted above the hearth.Crew: Lupinecrewmate examines the broken prows closely. "These weren't hunting skiffs—there are no harpoon mounts on the bows. They were rigged with heavy cargo slings meant to haul something massive away." Hearing this, the old tracker in the corner sets down her boot and comes aboard to mark the wyrm's true lair on your chart.Reveal 2 waypoints
- Partner with Captain Brandr to hunt the wyrm together for an even split of the bounty.Brandr clasps your forearm in a hard clan grip. "Your ship draws her jaws from the front while my Sinew drives harpoons into her belly from below—and we split the heart-scale bounty fifty-fifty." Outside on the dock, her first mate is loading heavy cargo slings onto the Sinew—strange gear for a kill hunt.→ Slings
Sefa's Road
Right away2Wrapped in her blanket at your bow, Sefa guides you into the high peaks. "Longshadow has nested on the same crag for forty years without ever attacking a clan vessel. Then suddenly she smashes three skiffs in a single month. Ask yourself what those skiffs were trying to steal from her ledge." Ahead, a dense swarm of carrion gloomwings darkens the canyon air above an old kill site blocking the path to the lair.
- Fight your way straight through the gloomwing swarm.Disturbed from their feast, the entire gloomwing flock erupts from the carcass like a black stormcloud.Battle: Gloomwing swarm · Close rangeIf you win:+3 crystal

Slings
Right away3Brandr's harpoon ship, the Sinew, flies off your quarter with her main harpoon cannon covered in canvas and a dead ram dangling from her bowsprit as bait. When both ships moor for the night, her first mate comes aboard for a drink and lets his tongue slip: a wealthy noble house on the summit has offered a fortune for a live skywyrm egg for their private menagerie. Brandr intends to let you and the mother wyrm tear each other apart so she can haul the eggs away in her cargo slings.
- Play along quietly, pour her mate another drink, and pump him for details. You keep his cup full until he spills the noble buyer's exact price for a live egg—and inadvertently reveals the Sinew's private smuggling lanes across the peaks.Reveal 2 waypoints

Longshadow's Ledge
Sail to Longshadow's Ledge (2–4 passages away)4 Locate the great skywyrm Longshadow on her high mountain ledge.
Stretched along the entire length of the mountain shelf, Longshadow's rain-dark scales cast a shadow all the way to the valley floor. She is the largest living creature you have ever seen. Yet she does not launch to attack: her massive head tracks your ship warily while one wing remains draped protectively over three pale, cask-sized eggs resting on the stone behind her.
- Ready your weapons and engage. With a single beat of her immense wings that heels your ship over in the gale, Longshadow launches from the ledge to defend her nest.Battle: Skywyrm · Close range, GaleIf you win:+5 crystal
- Keep your gun ports closed and observe her peacefully from a distance.Seeing your gun ports remain shut, the ancient wyrm slowly lowers her head back onto the stone, keeping one watchful eye on your hull.
- Leave it for now.You back your ship slowly down the valley while Longshadow's watchful gaze follows you until the canyon walls hide her from view.
The Heart-Scale
Right away5Your crew haul Longshadow's shield-sized, still-warm heart-scale onto the deck. High above on the wind-swept ledge, her three uncovered eggs will freeze before morning if left exposed—and an opportunistic harpoon ship is already creeping up the valley with cargo slings rigged to poach them now that the mother is dead.
- Take the heart-scale and leave the eggs to the poachers. You set course out of the canyon with the heart-scale as the poacher's ship lowers her cargo slings onto the undefended nest.
- Drive off the poacher's ship and bring the three wyrm eggs safely back to the clan.As your crew wrap the three massive eggs in blankets beside the warm galley stove, the poacher's harpoon ship charges in with cannons blazing to steal your prize.Battle: Bounty hunters · Long rangeIf you win:+4 bolts
- Let the poacher hoist the eggs in exchange for a cut of his smuggling profits. The poacher sends across a heavy purse of silver before winching the three eggs off the ledge—though word of the shameful bargain is sure to reach the clan hall before you do.+60 silver−1 The Clans standing
What the Skiffs Wanted
Right away6Gently nudging each of her three eggs with her snout, Longshadow settles back over her clutch—a mother guarding her nest, not a rogue beast hunting ships. Suddenly, your lookout spots a sail: Captain Brandr's Sinew is racing low up the valley with heavy cargo slings rigged beneath her keel. Spotting the poacher's ship, Longshadow rears her head and lets out a deafening roar.
- Place your ship between the Sinew and the nesting ledge to protect the wyrm's clutch.Seeing your hull swing across her path to block the nest, Brandr doesn't even slow down—opening fire as your partnership ends.Battle: Bounty hunters · Long rangeIf you win:+5 bolts
- Block the crippled Sinew from reaching the nesting ledge.Having patched her shattered foredeck with spare sailcloth, Brandr charges stubbornly up the canyon and opens fire as you block her path to the nest.Battle: Bounty hunters · Long rangeIf you win:+5 bolts

The Scale on the Stone
At a port7 Deliver Longshadow's heart-scale to the clan elders at the hunters' hall.
The hunters' hall falls silent as your crew carry Longshadow's massive heart-scale inside and lay it upon the hearthstone beneath the three broken skiff prows. Running a weathered hand across the scale, the eldest looks more solemn than triumphant. "Forty peaceful years on one crag, come to this. Still, the hall posted a bounty, and the hall honors its word." Along the walls, veteran hunters eye the impervious scale like armor plate.
- Take the pay.A clan paymaster counts your silver out upon the hearthstone, and Longshadow's scale is hung above the fire in heavy silence.+1 The Clans standingThe questline ends here.
- Present the three rescued skywyrm eggs to the clan elders as well. The eldest rises to her feet in awe. The hall's nest-keepers—who have not had a live skywyrm clutch to tend in a generation—rush the warm eggs to the aerie, pay your full bounty, and pack your sick bay and galley with their finest medicines and provisions.+2 The Clans standing+3 flasks+4 provisionsThe questline ends here.
- Confront the elders about the poaching slings mounted on the three shattered skiffs.Silence grips the room as the eldest glares coldly at a pale elder near the door. "The hall pays its posted bounty," she says quietly, "and tonight the hall will settle accounts with its own behind barred doors." On your way out, a grateful hunter presses a sheaf of armor-piercing wyrm bolts into your hands.+8 bolts+1 The Clans standingThe questline ends here.
- Forgo the silver bounty and ask to mount the wyrm's heart-scale on your own hull as armor.Recognizing that a heart-scale belongs on a fighting ship rather than over a fireplace, the eldest keeps the silver and has the clan's master shipwrights bolt the nearly impenetrable scale directly over your keel.Relic: Dragonscale PlankingThe questline ends here.
Three Prows
At a port8 Report the truth about the egg-poaching skiffs to the clan elders at the hunters' hall.
You report everything you witnessed at the crag: Longshadow peacefully tending her clutch, and poachers using cargo slings to steal her eggs. The eldest orders the three broken skiff prows taken down from the hearth and flipped over—revealing heavy sling cleats bolted inside every one. Near the door, an elder turns ash-pale. "My own nephews," the eldest whispers in disgust. "Poaching wyrm eggs for lowland lords—and tricking this hall into putting a bounty on the mother who defended them." Turning to you, she bows her head. "The bounty is withdrawn, Captain, and this hall owes you a far greater reward than mere silver."
- Request the great wyrm-sinew ballista hanging on the hall wall.Strung with braided wyrm sinew and firing bolts tipped with ancient wyrm teeth, the great ballista has hung above the hall doorway for sixty years. Four clan hunters carry it aboard your gun deck and string it for your crew.Weapon: Wyrmtooth Ballista+1 The Clans standingThe questline ends here.
- Ask the hall's master healers to refit your sick bay and pay your expenses.Led by a gruff old Ursine healer, the hall's nest-keepers overhaul your sick bay, leave behind a supply of their legendary healing balm along with its recipe, and present a purse of silver from the eldest. The questline ends here.
