Endings

Deliver, Take or Break: how the voyage can end.

At the Cistern, at the end of the Hush Front, you decide what happens to the void crystal at the heart of the war. There are three endings, plus the quieter ways a voyage can finish.

Deliver the Cistern#

Read the ending (spoilers)

Your patron claims the Cistern's void crystal, bringing the war to an end. The Hush recedes, and the dead sky slowly clears.

High atop the Peak, the noble terraces burn brighter than ever, while the lower docks remain in shadow. Down at the river port, a clerk finally registers you as a full citizen—right before entering the next debtor in line on the Lowborn rolls.

Seize the Cistern#

Read the ending (spoilers)

You lock the Shard into the core and claim the Cistern's power for yourself. Every mana lamp across the realm now answers to your will.

You promise yourself that you will rule more justly than the Crown ever did. Every night, the Undertow whispers the same assurance back to you—in a voice that sounds increasingly like your own.

Shatter the Core#

Read the ending (spoilers)

You shatter the great void crystal, releasing all the stolen mana back into the sky. It falls like warm rain across the Front, the Reaches, and the Mountain.

The poorest districts light up first. Down on the river docks, for the first time in living memory, the street lamps ignite all on their own.

Other ways a voyage ends#
