Where the workshop doors once stood, the cliff face is now smooth, seamless stone that has defeated every bounty hunter's pickaxe. Yet from a hairline vent high in the rock curls a thin thread of lamp smoke: someone is still living inside.

The Surveyor's Apprentice
Right away2 Speak with the apprentice inside the sealed workshop.
The master Shaper is long gone, leaving behind her young apprentice, Tamsin Reed. For four years Tamsin has survived on rainwater and drain-catch, shaping lightweight stone hull-plates stacked to the ceiling. "Holding that stone wall solid takes constant focus," she says exhaustedly. "I can't keep holding the wall and sleeping much longer."

The Bounty Crew Returns
Right away3 Deal with the bounty hunters at the base of the cliff.
A horn blasts at the base of the cliff: the bounty hunters have returned in an armed cutter, hauling a heavy mechanical rock-drill up the ledge on a sled. Spotting your ship, their captain calls up: "So you found a way inside! Step aside and we'll cut you in for a share of the bounty."

The bounty clerk pulls down a faded nine-year-old wanted poster for the master Shaper. "The old woman may be gone, but we still pay seventy silver for the location of an unregistered wild-magic workshop."

With the hunters gone, Tamsin sits atop a stack of stone hull-plates. "More hunters will come eventually. I can seal myself back inside and keep making armor nobody uses, or I can finally leave this cave." She looks hopefully toward your ship.
