An Unnatural Storm

The sky over Thrush Pass is clear until you are a mile inside the gorge. Suddenly, black clouds boil up from the crags and dry thunder shakes your hull. A massive storm-ray circles the edge of the thunderhead, feeding on the lightning, while a lone watch-hut lamp gleams atop the highest peak.

The Watch-Hut
Right away2Inside the stone hut sits a gaunt thirty-year-old woman with stick-thin wrists and hair bleached white at the roots by magical burnout. "I'm Edda Thrale," she says without standing up. "You're here for the bounty. A wrecker captain named Lowrie Vane is holding my brother Tam prisoner in his ship's hold. Whenever a caravan enters the pass, Vane forces me to summon a storm so he can loot the wreck. If I refuse, he sends me one of Tam's fingers."
- Ignore her excuse—shackle her and take her in for the bounty.Too weak to resist, she holds out her thin wrists and lets your crew winch her aboard.
- Ask where Vane's ship is hiding so you can rescue her brother."He's anchored in a cove on the sheltered side of the pass, waiting to loot whatever my storm brings down," Edda says, pulling herself to her feet. "Help me save Tam, and I'll summon whatever weather you want over that cove when we attack."
- [Surgeon] Have crewmate treat her exhaustion before planning the attack on Vane.Crew: Surgeoncrewmate gives her hot broth and checks her racing pulse. "Another month of forcing the weather like this will kill her." Grateful for the care, Edda sketches Vane's hidden cove and its approach lanes on your map.Reveal 2 waypoints
The Wrecker's Offer
Right away3You have barely cleared the peak with Edda in your hold when a sleek wrecker sloop—the Glad Tidings—rounds the crag with cannons run out. From her quarterdeck, Captain Lowrie Vane hails you through a megaphone: "That storm-witch is my livelihood, Captain! Put her back in her hut, and I'll pay you more silver right now than the town's bounty poster!" Down in your brig, Edda whispers, "My brother Tam is in his hold."

Weather to Order
Right away4From the ridge overlooking the sheltered cove, you spot the Glad Tidings at anchor with her loot skiffs swung out. The Pass Town Council
At a port5 Deliver the storm-caller Edda Thrale to the council at the pass town.

- Turn Edda over to the council and collect the bounty. The reeve pays your bounty from the toll chest and locks Edda in the town wool-shed, never bothering to ask who looted the wrecked caravans. The questline ends here.

The Wrecker's Hold
Right away6Your crew free Tam Thrale from the wrecker's hold, his left hand bandaged where two fingers were cut off, surrounded by stacks of stolen caravan bales stamped with Guild marks. - Bring Edda, Captain Vane, and the stolen caravan goods to the pass town to face judgment together.Edda nods, and Tam refuses to leave her side. Your crew transfer the stolen cargo bales—and Vane's hidden strongbox—aboard your ship for the flight to town.+20 silver
